Camping les Dunes****
Camping les Dunes is a friendly campsite situated at Les Conches de Longeville about five miles from La Tranche-sur-Mer, between Sables d’Olonne and La Rochelle.
The campsite is attractively laid out in a forest clearing, with pine trees dotted among the partially shaded, sandy emplacements. From the rear of the campsite there is a sandy path which leads through the woods to the beach. It will take approximately fifteen minutes to walk to the beach. Alternatively, you can drive down the road and find ample parking space behind a long, sandy beach backed by the sand dunes and pine forests.
There is a pedestrian area located by the campsite bar which gives a really continental feel and this is where the evening entertainment takes place during July and August, usually twice a week.
The campsite has two separate excellent swimming pools, one covered and one open air, both with waterslides and children’s paddling pools. There is also a children’s play area, a small, but well stocked general shop, a cooked meals service and a family bar.
Only gas barbecues may be used on this campsite.
Bike hire is organised on the campsite. Rentals can be for a half-day, for the day or for the week and there are cycle paths close to the campsite. From there you can cycle along the coast, meander inland, or venture off into the pine forests.
