Everyone at Matthews Holidays really tries hard to make our clients holidays the best they can possibly be.

When we recieve letters back confirming that we've achieved this, it makes us very proud indeed! Take a look at a selection of some of the letters we've received in the past from happy customers:

"After spending many holidays with Matthews at the Palmyre Loisirs site in La Palmyre we were a little apprehensive when they moved to a new site more than twice the distance from the village of La Palmyre.  (5km instead of 2km) and opposite the Luna Park which gets quite lively at night. However the new site has proved to be excellent.  There is more space between the pitches and the use of wooden decking instead of the stone paving is a terrific improvement.  More comfortable to walk on and keeps the caravan cleaner by not walking in dirt on feet or shoes. The Luna Park runs from 8pm to 2am but the noise was never excessive from our caravan (S10). When we arrived (19 June) the outside road was being resurfaced and a new cycle path was in the process of construction.  This only took a few days and improved access from the site to the village enormously.  The site is well maintained and there is an internal walkway from Pinède 2 through to Pinède 1 where the Aqua-park is.  The site is quite peaceful in spite of our van being adjacent to the Boules pitch, picnic area and children’s playground.  In the busy season, July and August, this area could become quite noisy and congested. The Matthews site rep is a friendly out-going person always willing to spend time with her guests and quickly solving any minor problems they may have. For anything major the area rep is readily available and our entire holiday went without a hitch. I am happy to say our initial apprehension was ill-placed and we spent 2 enjoyable weeks at La Pinède with the full intention of returning in 2019"

Seems like a long time ago since we got back from France.  I wanted to drop you a mail firstly to thank Jayne for being so brilliant in sorting out the ferries and communicating with the site.  Whilst it wasn't the best start to the break, knowing someone was there to sort at least one thing was a great feeling.  The crossing was like a mill pond too.
I also want to say how impressed we were by Edmond [and Steve].  In all the years at that site [11 this year] the caravan has never been cleaner, they were so friendly when we arrived, nothing was too much trouble and moving us on arrival was handled brilliantly.  This level of, I hate to use the word, service continued throughout the fortnight, nothing was too much trouble and the regular little chats meant nothing escalated.  A credit to your company.

"We have recently returned from an excellent holiday at Les Genets. Our trip was booked through Matthews Holidays, our advisor was Kate who was knowledgeable, professional and made the entire booking process simple.
On arrival at Les Genets we were greeted by Mike our onsite courier, he was very friendly and well presented. We were taken to our mobile home which was very clean and in perfect condition. Throughout our stay Mike was always on hand to resolve any minor issues we had, his local knowledge was excellent and he was able to recommend various places to visit during our stay.
The campsite was well maintained and had a first class pool complex which had enough to keep kids of all ages entertained. Other facilities on site consisted of:- 
(1) Bar / Restaurant, which had a menu to cater for all tastes, the staff were very friendly and were always keen to interact with customers. 
(2) Take away restaurant also had an extensive menu and like the Bar / Restaurant was reasonably priced.
(3) Children's play park, tennis court, Basketball / Football court and a large petanque area although we did not avail of these activities they seem to be very popular.
(4) There was also a number of washing machines and tumble dryers a various locations throughout the site, tokens for these could be purchased from the campsite office.
(5) On site shop was expensive but handy for those last minute items. 
The local beach is about a 10 minute walk from the site where you will find a small beach bar serving cold drinks, paninis and snacks. They also sell a locally produced beer La Corde Raide which I can thoroughly recommend. Locally there are a number of restaurants serving a wide variety of local and international food. My recommendation would be Le Tropical where you will find a good varied menu and very friendly staff. The local Super U Express can be expensive but is handy for those items you forget. There are several large supermarkets within a 10/15 drive and there you will find an extensive range of food and wine."

"Well we're home now for over 2 weeks and I'm only getting round to dropping you a wee note of our impression of the new site. 
Well in short it was brilliant, we loved the site and the placement. The placements have more room round them and being in the new side (ie entrance 2)of La Pinede it is quieter. We also loved the Lodge it was roomy and a good layout. 
Julie was good and we enjoyed many a chat, caravan was clean as a whistle as usual. 
Folk may wonder what effect the Luna Park has at night when you're trying to sleep, well I can tell you that it had little effect at all, we heard it more at your previous site than at La Pinede, so folk shouldn't worry about it. 
It was nice to see the work being done on the site it would appear they are putting a lot of money into improvements and we enjoyed watching it all.  The management on the site and their staff were very pleasant and waved on way passed caravan or spoke to you as you wandered around the site. The site was very clean. 
Re cycling while there is a white line denoting the cycle path on the road its a bit tight and as one who doesn't like cycling too close to traffic I was nervous but I bit the bullet and went for it. It was fine and only about a mile & half to the first dedicated cycle path going toward La Palmyre,  so if I can do it so can anyone else. Drivers are in the main very good and give you room. We will certainly be back at this site again. 
So hope you get away on a nice holiday yourself in the meantime many thanks to you and the staff at Matthew for all your hard work that  allowed us to have another great holiday."

Lacanau-Ocean is 10-15 minute walk and has lovely restaurants and bars. The lake at Moutchic is great for swimming, paddle boarding and has sand and grassy areas to sit. There was also an inflatable wipeout course on the lake that we all enjoyed. We had such a great time we have booked to return next summer.”

Two years ago our car broke down on departure day and Matthews, with no fuss, arranged an extra night's stay in our mobile home while we sorted it out, and rearranged our ferry booking. This year it was the striking French farmers blockading all the ports who stopped us getting to our ferry, and a Matthews representative on the phone talked us through an alternative route to the port and, when that failed to get round the farmers, again rearranged our ferry booking for the next day. "Having recently returned from another holiday with you, I must commend to you the excellent reps Rob and Hailey you have at Le Clarys Plage, St Jean de Monts. They were always smartly dressed and helpful, even when it was necessary for my son-in-law to call on their assistance at midnight on one occasion when they had lost their electrics. (due to some Irish campers who decided that they would like some additional supply) disconnected the Caravan. Rob soon had the situation under control with the minimum of fuss.
This is I believe the ninth holiday my wife and I have taken with you and the fifth for my Son-in-Law and his wife, and it will not be the last, we have already decided that in  2015 we will be going to Chateau des Ormes, provided it is still on your list. Please let us know when the early booking commences.
One point, I am astounded at the price some of your competitors charge for a holiday at the same camp.

"We have just returned from our holiday at Bretignolles and I'm just writing to say what a very good time we had at site. The site facilities are superb. This was our third holiday with Matthews in the past 5 years or so and each one has been very good value for money. We have stayed each time in the Focus caravans and found that for a couple with two children that these caravans are very good. The two that were presented by the your couple at site this year had been very well cleaned and felt comfortable straight away. We have been driving to Europe on holidays each year since 1979 and over the years have moved away from inclusive holidays to booking independtly but have chosen Matthews because of your ABTA bonding and the fact that it just better value.

For the second year we were glad to find Bernie (your rep at Les Genets) who as last year had prepared "our" caravan to the highest standards. Not since my stay at the St Gildas site in Brittany in 2006 (Bob and his wife), have the caravans been so clean.
One disappointing thing that I have noticed over the years (7 years 12 holidays)  is the wear and tear to the door catches and especially the roller blinds, these don't spoil the holiday but can be a little irritating. Please pass on our thanks to Bernie, he is an asset to Matthews.

"I thought that I should write to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at Domaine des Ormes is year. As you may probably know, we go every year if we can - before the season really gets started as we enjoy the peacefulness of the site and the surrounding countryside before the May holiday rush. We are also keen golfers and enjoy the excellent Parkland course at Des Ormes.
We were very lucky with the weather this year - sunshine all the way which helps a lot.
A special mention for Brian who welcomed us as usual and was very attentive to our needs particularly as we switched this year from a Focus to the larger Lodge accommodation. The extra space was very useful to us and we will book a Lodge in future.
Also a thank you to your staff in UK who phoned and left a message on my mobile phone to let us know that there were roadworks near Dol de Bretagne which would affect our journey time back to the ferry on our departure. As a result we chose a different route back to St Malo thus avoiding the hassle of the roadworks.

"I would like to expand the conversation and confirm in writing my observations (as a 'seasoned' camper) of your site courier, Richard.
Arrival  Wednesday
Greeting and introduction to the unit and site facilities was excellent, being comprehensive but not over loaded or delivered by rote.
Our unit, was presented in immaculate order.
Since when he has dropped by or seen us on site several times to check all is ok but always in an unobtrusive manner.
This morning he has been checking out and cleaning the van next to ours.
Idly relaxing we noticed that he appeared to be doing a very thorough job indoors. All windows were then cleaned inside and out.
However in all my years, I have never seen the whole outside of the unit swept with a brush and wiped with such care.
I would sum up that he is a courier of the 'old school' and intend this to be a compliment of the highest order.
He is definitely a credit to your company and I would suggest you sign him up on as long a contract as possible lest he gets head-hunted elsewhere!
